Starting up

If you were to ask me, so far I have never regretted doing blogshop modelling.
In fact, it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made!

Before I started out, I was modelling for photographers introduced to me who wanted to build their portfolio because I wanted to earn extra cash $$$. Nope, I don't come from a rich family background and I had to earn $$$ so that I can buy nice clothing, bags, shoes etc. for myself. Unfortunately, I had a rather bad experience with these photographers. I was often told that I should stop modelling because I was bad at it, no potential, not natural enough etc. I remember one photographer was really mean to me and left me sarcastic comments and the last thing he said to me was "goodluck with your modelling career". Tsk. Not being stereotypical, but based on my own experience these photographers are usually males and tiko-pehs (perverts) that eye on every opportunity to take advantage of girls. Most of the time, whenever I asked if someone could come along with me for the photoshoot because I was uncomfortable being by myself, they would often react very unpleasantly and give excuses like "very unprofessional etc". Apparently, they want me to be with them 1 on 1, but no thanks. So secretive for what LOL! Don't call me skeptical but it's better to be safe than sorry right? I definitely do not encourage girls to take up photoshoots from these guys, especially if you don't know them personally. And even if they claim to be from local universities and want to build their portfolio, nope, just nope.

Even though people told me I couldn't make it and left negative comments, it did not stop me. My amazing journey began when I had the opportunity to do blogshop modelling. (LOL xD). My very first blogshop photoshoot was on 24 September 2014 with Butteredgun. It hasn't even been a year since I started out but it feels like a very long time has passed. I still remember clearly how that day went. xD Back then I would go for shoots on almost every Friday after school. :p

Omg, these pictures brings back so many good memories HAHA xD Even though the journey was quite long there, I managed to make it on time xD Punctuality has always been an issue for me. I am never early for school and I was often labelled as a late comer since secondary school HAHAHA. Being punctual truly is an accomplishment for me :x Eventually I started taking up more photoshoots and collaborated with many other stores and brands. So far I have met so many amazing people and acquaintances who turned into my friends :D I have ventured into areas that I have never thought I would ever accomplish in my life!!! No words can explain my gratitude for everything and everyone who has supported me in any way! Even to my followers on my Instagram profile (@Charlottelum) and those who leave nice comments! ^^ They are the reason to keep me going! :D

Not everything is smooth sailing though. Sometimes, there might be internet trolls who want to bring you down and incapable people out there who want to eat your money etcetc. Some people might even take you for granted. Then again, ignorance is bliss :) So far one of the biggest challenge I have faced is the weather. Sometimes the sun will be blazing hot and sometimes it will rain heavily, disrupting the shoot. Urgh, I really need to remind myself to wear sunblock before heading out of the house. Usually, I only apply it to my face, that explains why I have uneven skin tone :(((( *cries* I used to be fairer but thanks to the forever-summer-singapore-weather, I have become a lot tanner as outdoor shoots means more exposure to the sun. :((((((

Also, here's a very sensitive issue that I have been keeping to myself for quite some time.

I have been called " too skinny" by almost everyone to an extent that I am very self-conscious, especially when I model a piece of clothing that is more oversized than usual. It's quite hurtful especially when insensitive people leave comments like "so skinny, do you even eat". I did not choose to be this way. I can't grow fat for whatever heck I eat. Some people even think I starve myself just to be this way. I used to see a doctor/nutritionist due to being severely underweight but they concluded that I just have a high metabolism rate and have a naturally small body frame. I hope that some people realize that there are people who are born to be skinny, and no matter how hard they try to grow fatter, they can't. Just like fat people dislike being called fat, and skinny people dislike being called skinny. I don't get why that is to most people, only fat people will be hurt when insults are being thrown at them, but skinny people wouldn't.

Given the choice who wouldn't want the perfect body figure?

So far these are the only few negative experiences I had since I started out!  However I would prefer to focus on the positive experiences I've gained! ^^v  I'm still looking to gain more exposure hehe. One of my upcoming plans is to start making videos on youtube! Looking forward!!! ^^

There might be up and downs to everything in life! However, as long as you believe in the things you do, nothing is impossible!

XOXO.

Advertorial: PureViVi

Hello all!

Today I am gonna introduce you my current favorite make up remover! :D

*TADAAAAAAA*

It is called Purevivi Cleansing Lotion!
Never heard of it? Neither did I until more than a month ago when I was given a bottle for a review!

It is from Japan and made in Japan, of course ♡
Now for someone who puts on quite a lot of make up for photoshoots mostly everyday, a good make-up remover is really one of the best investment you can make. For me i have tried almost everything, from soap to foam-based to mousse to gel-based to oil-based to make up remover wipes. The most effective one i would say is oil-based one to cleanse of those stubborn water-proof mascara. But honestly i secretly hated oil-based remover because no matter what there’s still this leftover oily feeling, not to mention it is quite messy when you pour/pump it out and worse if it spills over.

But why is Purevivi my favorite now???

Because!
It is a make-up remover that is almost like water!!!!! It is fragrance free, non-oil based, alcohol free, and the texture is SO SO light it’s like cleansing with water!!!
Here are the 4 main functions:
Removes makeup
Cleansing
Moisturizing
Soothing
At first i was very skeptical... Honestly it looks like a bottle of mineral water. (LOL) I thought that it might be so mild that's why it’s perfect for sensitive skin. But seriously!! It manage to remove all traces of heavy make up on my face!

(Hehe, I purposely leave on my heavy photoshoot make up for this demonstration! xD)

First of all, wet, your cotton pads with a few drops of the lotion~

Then i cover my eyes and gently wipe off~
This lotion contains moisturizing plant extracts like grapefruit, lemon, jujube, apple aloe and barley extracts, so it’s completely natural and gentle to skin, yet it’s effective in removing even waterproof make up!

Annnnd my right eye is totally make-up free!!! I have never used such light texture liquid that so effectively removes make up before!

I was honestly surprised that my lip make up could be removed the lotion too! O.O I had Limecrime's Velvetines (Red Velvet) on my lips and it is known for it's staying power. All I had to do was wipe it off with a soaked cotton.
All of it came off!! Really clean in just a few wipes, and the best is it doesn’t leave any funny smell or uncomfortable feeling on your lips like some oil-based removers do.

Thoroughly clean face with no make~
The packaging doesn’t look very fancy mancy wancy, but highly recommended!
This bottle is 500ml, apparently it says that it will last you more than 2 months if you use it everyday (with 2-3 pieces of cotton), but guess what!! I have already used it for more than a month and look at the volume!! That’s how much i have used lolol. (Ok maybe i’m just extra kiam siap lol.)
Now…
Wanna know the best thing about this product?
The price.
Guess how much??
.
.
.

SGD $19.90 for 500ml!!!

Crazy right??? I used to spend so much money on high-end make up cleansers! >.<
Seriously this is one of the most worth-your-money products ever, you can just go try it yourself!

Purevivi is available at selected Watsons outlets

BKK :D

Helloooo!

I'm so glad to be back in Singapore safe and sound! :D Just a week ago I was at Bangkok for my "grad" trip. (P.S. I haven't officially graduated yet but.. semi-graduated. You get the idea.. :p) Overall the trip has been good but it wasn't my best experience at Bangkok because I was down with a fever and had diarrhea for days :'( I was told that my pictures on Instagram doesn't reflect how sick I was HAHAHA! I guess no matter how sick I am, I'll still smile for pictures! :x

It was rather difficult to look for medicine nearby the hotel I was staying in. I'm not sure about all of you but my "first aid" for a fever would be Panadol which I didn't manage to get in the 7 eleven store nearby. :(((( Most of the meds there were labelled in thai words and I had no idea how to read. I did not want to pick up the wrong medicine that cures something else instead x.x Luckily, there was a brand called SARA(?) or something close to that which had the word "Paracetamol" written on it. Honestly, I was quite skeptical about it because I have never seen that label before, plus the packaging looks rather.. meh. (*.*) It managed to bring down my fever though. LOL! I guess this proves the phrase "Do not judge a book by it's cover" xD xD As for my tummy, I did not manage to cure it even after I came back from my trip.. :'( At least it's good now! Those nights where I got out from bed to rush to the toilet were terrible.. :'(

I did not manage to cover my itinerary planned beforehand. :( I just felt like going back to the hotel to rest everyday because I was sick :'((( There goes my plans of eating good food and shopping at night markets :( The weather there was really hot too especially on the day we went to Chatuchak. O,O I was honestly so afraid of getting burnt by the sun that I walked around wearing a cardigan to protect myself from the sun.. I think everyone who walked past me was thinking I was crazy. :p Yes, it was reallyreally hot but it was better than being sun burnt :x Took a train to Mo Chit to get there :D Whenever the train passes by Chatuchak I'll always be amazed by the view.. BECAUSE THE AREA IS HUGEEEE!!!! So happy that I managed to eat their coconut ice cream again ^^ Hehe, the place was so big that we got lost xD Should've just stayed within their fashion zone.. xD But then again, if we did, I'll never get to know that they sell super cute animals like bunnies, puppies, squirrels etc. SUPER CUTE.

I was going crazy because the bunnies were so cute!!! (。♥‿♥。) I wanted to cuddle all of them!!! xDD If they could be brought back I would have got them already! :p SO TINYYYY AND CUTE LOL! They were so many mini sized Muffies (My own rabbit) ( ˘ ³˘)♥

Awww....

Awwwwww

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I wanted to touch them but then I was too shy~ :x Plus I was scared that the shop owners would be mindful of it :(

For the first 2 days or so, we traveled via train everywhere!!! O.O But, being a lazy person, I did not continue doing it and took a tuktuk wherever I went instead ^^v So convenient!!! xD Most of them were really nice people. However, I realized that some of the drivers like to jack up prices and we have to end up bargaining or take another tuktuk instead. During my whole trip, especially on a tuktuk I was extremely vary and concerned about my belongings. I WAS SO AFRAID TT SOMEONE WOULD SNATCH MY STUFF AND RUN AWAY WITH IT :( Fortunately nothing of that sort happened.. :)

Messy hair don't care.

Yes, I took a picture outside the hello kitty cafe but had no chance to go into the cafe.... :'(((( Probably next time.

Afteryou at Siam was so good :) I WANT TO GO THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :((((( Just looking at these makes me crave for more. T_T Thank you Alicia for the recommendation. I feel like a mountain tortoise for not knowing this place exists. xD

Choconana toast

Cheddar cheese toast

Lava cake + Ice cream

Brownie + Ice cream

All of them are so good... I can't pick my favourite :( ALL ARE MY FAVOURITES LOLOLOL xD ok I'm just feeling very hungry now.. xD We also had A&W at Siam! I remember when I was younger, I really loved it a lot. Now, I'm honestly not a fan of it anymore.. SORRY :( We also had thai food at some random thai restaurant at Siam Paragon and had Ramen in some Jap restaurant (Can't rmb the name)!  Super nice!!! =D Other than all the food I've mentioned, the other food we ate aren't that glamorous at all.. let me give you some examples... Cup noodles, 7eleven microwaved food & McDonalds. xD Well in the end all these food end up the same.. as diarrhea. OPPS :x teehee.

I wished I had bought things for everyone :( I wanted to customize things for everyone but I did not have enough time :'(((( Probably next time. I guess even though I did not manage to shop a lot, it's a good thing for me because my closet is exploding. Please bkk, stop increasing your prices :( 7 months ago since I last visited versus now, your prices have already shot up by a lot :( Their night markets are still the best!!!! <3 Everything is so cheap =D Wheeee~

Not sure when will be the next time I will be going to BKK again. :p

If you somehow managed to read till the end of my post....
